AcuraStem is a near-to-clinic, patient-based biotechnology company pioneering how treatments are developed for neurodegenerative diseases — including sporadic ALS and FTD — using our proprietary, best-in-class, disease-modeling platform, iNeuroRx®, the gold standard for discovering novel, effective and broadly-acting treatments. To advance our mission of delivering these promising treatments to patients as swiftly as possible, AcuraStem is seeking a dedicated Office Assistant.

As the Laboratory Office Assistant you will collaborate closely with our operations team, dedicating 2-4 hours per day within the window of 10 to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining efficient office operations, focusing on inventory management, including ordering, shipping, and receiving tasks. We're seeking a candidate who thrives on creative problem-solving, possesses experience in inventory tracking, and derives satisfaction from meeting the needs of our team.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments.
  • Organize and maintain inventory records, including record entry to the inventory management system.
  • Assist with office administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document organization.
  • Manage office and kitchen supplies.  Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities
  • Provide general administrative support to team members as requested.
  • Support organizing and scheduling company meetings and events.
  • Support maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Meet and escort vendors to the laboratory for equipment repair or maintenance.
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Science background or laboratory experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an office assistant or in a similar administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and G-Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience with PO and Ordering system is a plus
  • Quartzy and Benchling knowledge is a plus
